Bank Holiday 6 A Side Competition
Sunday
24th August 2008
The rules of the game are
similar to last year but with a few changes which I have highlighted.
During the day we will be running a real ale bar plus the usual
club facilities , we will not be doing the music night as last year.
As to the rules of the six a side.
Teams entered into the Guy and Peter Partridge Cup are :Chedworth,
(to confirm) Charlton Kings, Woodpeckers,
Birdlip, The Partridges and Cheltenham
Civil Service
1.0
Each team must total a minimum of 190 years
2.0
No 50 year old can keep wicket
3.0
Wicketkeepers cannot bowl, everyone else
bowls one 6 ball over .
4.0
If a team includes more than one 50 year old
it receives a 10 run bonus, for three a 20 run bonus and so on.
5.0
Wides count as an extra four runs plus any
runs actually taken with the wide.If the wide goes to the boundary it is
5 runs, there is no extra ball.
6.0
No balls carry a one run penalty and an
extra ball which is a free hit, the batsman can only be out if he is run
out.
7.0
Batsmen retire on thirty but can come back
after the fall of the 6th wicket, the 5th batsman
out must act as a runner to the 6th batsman and so on for the
retired batsmen until everyone is out should this occur in less than
five overs.
Needless to say if anyone has any comments on these rules I would be
pleased to hear them.
As you are our guests for the cricket there are no other costs involved
other than drinks and food.
Please reply to myself or Phil James so we can prepare for the right
numbers.
Regards,
Chris Cotterell
