Has anybody been line up for the :

As you may be aware the Gloucestershire Cricket Board are going through some quite dramatic changes in terms of Board Structure and the work that we deliver. In order that the right message is passed to all of our clubs, our club committee’s and our volunteer workforce we are inviting you all to a series of Development Forum’s that we are running across the County. You only have to attend one and we are doing one of these in each of the 4 Districts of the County.
Cheltenham and Cotswold District – Monday 20th April – 7pm onwards @ The  Puesdown Inn, Northleach (on the A40 between Andoversford and Northleach)

The Cheltenham & District Cricket Association's distribution meeting, at which handbooks, match balls etc are given out, had originally been planned for next Wednesday 15th April.
This will now take place at The Victory Club, Lypiatt Road, Cheltenham on
Wednesday 22nd April, between 7.00pm and 7.45pm. (It's not a meeting, as such - just a time period for a representative of your club to call in and collect your items.)Chris is going - NS

(5th March) Emailed all player reference league registration, 8 replies received and I have entered them on play-cricket.com site. TH

Chris (5th March) We really need to address the issues that are vital to the club and it's ability to meet the standards needed to play cricket. Priority must be given to the showers, the nets and the ground, secondly to the club house itself, the boiler needs servicing and we need an energy policy. I met Tony Dagnall about the bar carpet. Budget ,with us doing the removals of the old, is £850 for needle punch as we have now. Other options involve carpet tiles etc. Also there is the exterior which needs a revamp.I estimate that the total work load on the club is something in the region of 100 man hours, some of it can wait as it is ball orientated. For your information we are pretty well sold out ,tickets will be hard to come by.Lets get some sort of program out and get these practical items done!!!
Feedback: I prefere the carpet tiles idea, they are rubber backed and reasonably hard wearing for the cost, straight forward to fit, only some edge tiles might need gluing and easy to replace.

League meeting Tuesday 3rd March - Attended by  NITIN & TREV
Match balls collected, runners up shield and trophies for 2nds, award for 2nds player also collected
Instructions on new procedure to register league player on play-cricket given. We no longer have to send up dated lists to the league. We do however have to enter player's postcode. Player need to be registered by 4th April. I (Trevor) will start the ball rolling with postcode requests.
Umpires cost £20 each or £30 for one for 2009
Better quality match balls the year, extra cost paid for by the league but only for this year.

Rule changes
Disciplinary amendments, facility standards, seating (likes of Cheltenham 2nds) arrangement, cancellation on Friday by both captains when game has 100% no chance of proceeding-all voted in. Late arrival to league fine to be reviewed first. More details on league's website

MISSING

AOB
Use of bowling machine by players who have not paid their membership

Andy Ward social events ideas
Chris (5th March) On the whole anything that can be done is a good thing and as we have done nothing for some time now. The music night with Grant James was good fun and does not need to be held in the club, say the village hall as we did 3 years ago

Please find listed below a few ideas I have for the coming season. They are just notes. I will see you all at the committee meeting Sunday and explain further

Raffle bottle of Whisky
jack Daniels or such like after each home game
Feedback : Possibly vary prize or a choice of two each week (replace the one that's chosen), sometimes alcohol not always well received

It’s a knock out
Pay to play. 6 aside teams take part in various activities. Tug of war? Wheel barrow race? Stupid races and serious ones. Maybe it could take place at the field on a Sunday
Feedback: I (Trev) thought a Superstars competition would be good. Maybe a mix of both or do both. Is it not something we could do ball weekend along with Presidents game, as we have use of the marquee.

Canoe Race
Symonds Yat? Sponsor maybe or pay to races. Prize or prize money.

Trip to Cheltenham cricket festival
Hi Andy ,I was good to chat to you earlier about the Cheltenham Cricket Festival.  I have attached a flyer which has all the dates and details of the packages on it.
As discussed (and shown on the flyer) the cost for just hiring out a marquee is £35+ Vat for Pro 40 matches and £28+Vat for LVCC matches (each entry).  Being a local cricket club though I will endeavour to bring that cost down to nearer £20 +Vat for you.
The availability we have on the Marquees is fine for the LVCC matched but unfortunately I have sold out the two Friday games.  Ladies Day on Wed 22nd is also filling up so if this date is a priority for you then please let me know and I can get you pencilled in.
With regards to the barbeque I’m afraid we do not allow them due to catering and safety regulations at the college.I hope to hear from you soon and reserve a marquee for your cricket Club.
Kind regards
Harriet

Feedback : What are the bar options, could we go in with one of our associated pubs, Golden Heart or Five Mile with a suitable licence.

Karaoke

Cheap, easy. Basically have a few beers and sing hearts out after one game at the club

Scale Electrics grand prix
Cheap, easy again. Sponsor to play. Pay to play?
Feedback : Nintento Wii has some good quick active games. Little competitions for 50p or so entry, there are some competitive souls in the club

Various Random competitions each Saturday
Who’s the baby?
Guess the weight?
Etc

Bonfire Night
Self explanatory
Feedback : Birdlip school already has a bonfire night

The majority of the above are fundraisers. I would like to see what type of response you think we will get then I will cost out and organise.
As for social nights. I will arrange a few nights out in season after games. Nights out on the town for people who want to get involved. Tom, maybe you could help me with other ideas for social events for the older drinkers!
Feedback : Would to try and keep punters at the club bar so more event at the club the better. One a month with promotional beer or wine etc.
