Big thanks to Tom Parsons for organising this year's raffle
Chairman Tom (21-12-11) The indoor cricket team continues to do well in winter indoor league, this is a fast and furious game which is not for the light hearted. The Christmas raffle has done well and will boost the junior fund for 2012. To all the friends of BBCC we wish you all a very merry Christmas and new year , the committee are planning a very full social calendar for the club and it's friends in 2012
Management Meeting (2-12-11) Meeting taking place on Tuesday 6th December. Please email the secretary if you have any matters for the committee to discuss.
Annual General Meeting Chairman Tom (15-11-11) Birdlip and Brimpsfield Cricket Club. We lose a legend from the club , a man who brought his own kind of humour to the changing room,  a man with whom I opened the batting with on many occasion and had a 100 opening partnership in a very critical league game , all of BBCC wish John Jessop a very happy retirement. Our AGM moved the club forward , some very positive changes for the future, Ian Green now chairman of the juniors is heading up 2 junior league sides , Andy Hieron is 1st team captain a tough but fair man who just loves to win , Andy Moor a very experienced cricketer is 2nd team captain ,and Dan Knock takes us into an unknown area as Sunday 1st team league captain , we now have a cricket development committee headed by our ex pro Mr D Partridge , he will be passing amongst you looking for talent . Our trustees continue to keep their eye on us and just sometimes have to give a gentle tug on the reins. We are holding our Christmas raffle at the Golden Heart on Monday 19th Dec all money raised going to the development of our junior cricket , if you are not offered the chance to buy these tickets but would like to join in , please ring me 01452 814152 and arrangements can be made ,and thank you in advance. Tom Parsons (still chairman)

Chairman Tom (21-10-11)Birdlip and Brimpsfield Cricket Club. October saw our annual club dinner this was held at the Golden Heart and I would like to thank them for a splendid job. A lot of fun was had and the guests were very polite during the speeches. Our silver ware was won in the 1st team by Andy Moore whose batting average shot up with 4 not outs, Andy Heiron won the bowling cup. In the 2nd X1 the batting was won by young George Smith and the bowling by the ever green Paul Harris, the clubman trophy which the chairman chooses went to Trevor Holder our treasurer and bar steward for all his hard work off the field. The Junior cup this year went to Dan Gadsen who is excelling not only at junior level but also in the mens game .November the 14th is our AGM to be held at the clubhouse 7.30 pm . We are reintroducing the Christmas raffle this year all proceeds to go to the junior section, so brace yourselves for the sales pitch!

Photobucket The young batsmen walked out to the wicket for his first match against the seniors. A spectator called out "I've put a nice bet on you" "That's nice" he replied nervously "I'll probably get a duck though" The punter replied "That's what I've bet"

Your Chairman has something to say (15-9-11) The season comes to a close but not without some good wins under our belt , Cirencester thought they would be back in town in time for the pubs to be open but the most senior and most junior players at BBCC built a winning total, making the opposition wonder where they went wrong. The 2nd 11 too finished with a couple of good performances. Tom and Joe Cotterell brought a team from London for the Cotterell memorial game ,although they lost the fixture looks permanent in our calendar for the future. After the last league game Jo Partridge and a helper provided us with a most delicious curry that was shared with the BBCC supporters club, who turned up en masse to drink the bar dry. The tour to Bournemouth was once again a huge success with 2 wins out of 3, lots to say but, what goes on tour stays on tour. Our next event will be our annual dinner this year to be held at the Golden Heart on October 1st ,all supporters welcome to come and listen to our speeches. Our AGM will be early November. Once again thank you to the sponsor of our test wicket covers the difference to the wicket is a real bonus. Chairman Tom Parsons
