BIRDLIP & BRIMPSFIELD CC FANTAST CRICKET LEAGUE 2025

RULES

1.       Each team must be made up of 11 players.

2.       Players must be chosen from the groups below.

3.       2 players from Group A, 2 players from Group B, 3 players from Group C, 3 players from Group D and 1 from Group E.

·         Players are also asked to predict the total number of runs that will be scored in first and second eleven Saturday league cricket in the season

4.       There are 2 ways in which you can change your team after the start of the season:

                                I.            If a player is injured or rules out for the rest of the season because of holiday he/she can be replaced by a player from the same group

                              II.            During the transfer windows a maximum of 4 changes can be made in total (i.e. no more than 4 changes over the whole season). Players must be replaced by a player from the same group

5.       Transfer windows are from 30th May to 3rd June, 27th June to 1st July, and 1st August to 5th August.

6.       Team changes will take effect from the next Saturday league game.

7.       Points are won by players playing in Saturday & Wednesday league games and Sunday friendlies only.

8.       The overall winner will be the person whose team has scored the most points after the last Saturday league game.

9.       In the event of a tie, the person who is closest to the total number of runs scored will be deemed the winner.

10.   Disputes over dropped catches, mis fields, run outs etc. are to be settled on the day with the team captain’s word being final.

11.   Up to date league tables will be displayed at regular intervals in the club and on the website.

12.   Entry is £5 per team (£3 under 16’s and unemployed) There will be a team ‘manager of the month’ prize of £5 and the winning team at the end of the season will receive £20. Any profit will be given to the cricket club / end of season due.

13.   The organisers decision is final.

BATTING:

1 POINT PER RUN SCORED, -5 RUNS FOR A DUCK, -10 RUNS FOR GOLDEN DUCK, 2 POINTS IF NOT OUT

BOWLING:

10 POINTS PER WICKET TAKEN, 2 POINTS PER MAIDEN OVER, 5 POINTS IF RUN RATE < 4 PER OVER

FIELDING:

5 POINTS PER CATCH, 5 POINTS PER STUMPING, 5 POINTS PER RUN OUT (MAIN FIELD PER ONLY), -5 POINTS PER DROPPED CATCH

BONUS:

2 POINTS PER PLAYER ON WINNING SIDE
